Step 4 – Review & Publish¶
Review screen¶
The final step shows a summary of everything before you publish:
- Reserved DOI — assigned by Zenodo when the draft was created. This DOI is permanent once published; you can cite it in papers before the deposit is public.
- Basic info — title and truncated description
- Creators — names, affiliations, ORCIDs
- Details — upload type, date, license, community, keywords
- Files — list of all successfully uploaded files with sizes
Click Preview draft on Zenodo to open the Zenodo draft record in a new tab and do a final visual check before publishing.
Publishing¶
Click Publish to MatWerk community to submit the deposit.
Publishing is permanent
Once published, a Zenodo deposit cannot be deleted. The DOI is registered with DataCite and the record becomes part of the permanent scholarly record. You can upload new versions, but the original record remains.
After publishing¶
A success screen shows:
- The final DOI as a clickable link (
https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.…) - A View on Zenodo button
- A Start new upload button to reset the wizard
Community review
Deposits submitted to nfdi-matwerk may undergo a curation review by the community curators before appearing in the community listing. The record is public immediately, but community membership may take a few days.
Discarding a draft¶
If you want to abandon a deposit before publishing, click Discard draft. This permanently deletes the draft and all uploaded files from Zenodo's sandbox.
